Indications
  • Surface contour deficiencies and irregularities
  • Deep facial wrinkles, laugh lines and frown lines
  • Augment volume to produce fuller lips or cheeks

Duration
  • 1 to 1.5 hrs

Procedure
  • Your own fat cells are removed from a donor site (abdomen or buttock) and injected into the area to be filled out (contour defect, wrinkle or fold)
Recovery
  • Mild to moderate swelling peaks at 2 days and disappears rapidly over the following 3 weeks
  • Minimal pain or bruising
  • Return to work within 3 to 4 days. More strenuous activity within 1 week
Result
  • Designed to be a permanent correction. However, there is a variable degree of resorption in the transplanted fat, resulting in a loss of volume of between 20- 70%
  • The procedure may need to be repeated one or two times to achieve the degree of permanent correction desired
Risks
  • Bruising, infection, contour irregularity
